Choose which projects your agent can read

Give an external agent read-only access to a selected project's structural evidence. Choose one hour or allow access indefinitely, then review or revoke the permission in Explorer.

Before you begin

  • Use the desktop Explorer and a registered project. Your account session and product authorization must also be valid.

  • Configure the external client's Graphtia integration. A configured connection and a project read permission are separate steps.

Review the project request

When a new request arrives, Explorer displays Project requests. For a read-access request, the dialog asks, “Use this project for this agent session?”

Review the agent name and the selected project. When the request crosses a context boundary, the dialog shows the context and destination project together. Read-only structural access is stated in the request.

The displayed agent name identifies the configured channel. A familiar name or logo is not, by itself, authentication or permission.

  • Is this the agent you intended to use?

  • Is the destination project correct?

  • If a context and project are shown together, does that relationship match your intended work?

A connection and permission are separate

Configure an agent connection, review the project it requests, and decide whether to allow read access for one hour or indefinitely, or decline. Review or revoke an existing permission in Explorer.

Choose how long access lasts

Allow for 1 hour

Allow structural queries for one hour. Reconnecting the client or updating Explorer does not restart that original expiry.

Allow indefinitely

Keep the project permission active until you revoke it. The permission remains tied to the same agent identity and project context.

Decline

Leave this request unapproved. A pending or declined request does not grant access.

This permission allows structural reads. It does not start indexing or change project files.

Review or change an existing permission

An indefinite grant is shown as “Indefinite · revoke anytime.” Its Expires field shows “No expiration.” This describes the workspace grant, not the validity of an account session.

If Explorer reports that the permission changed, refresh and review the current entry before retrying.

  1. Open Settings → Agent access and select Active.

  2. Find the agent and client. Check the Project, Access, Expires and Last used fields.

  3. Choose Make indefinite to remove the one-hour expiry, or Limit to 1 hour to set a one-hour period from the change.

  4. Choose Revoke permission when that agent should no longer use the grant.

Review permission history

Open the History tab in Agent access to review recorded requests, grants, duration changes, revocations, expirations and declined requests.

History entries identify the action, agent, client, project and time. Use this history to understand access decisions; use the Agent activity view to inspect observed structural queries.

Know what persists after an update

A normal Explorer update or client reconnect preserves an otherwise valid project grant. One-hour access keeps its existing deadline; indefinite access remains until revoked.

The grant still depends on the matching identity, project and root context. Replacing the project folder or using a different agent or context can require a new decision.

An expired or revoked grant cannot be restored by an old receipt or a client reconnect. Request access again only when you intend to approve that project for the agent.

Keep setup, indexing and read access distinct

Registering a folder adds it to the project library. Initial indexing and agent read access have their own approval boundaries.

Connecting an integration configures the external client to reach Graphtia. Test Connection checks the selected integration context; it does not approve the external application's own permission prompts.

Signing in establishes the account session. A saved project grant does not bypass an expired account session or missing product authorization.

Choose access for your workflow

A short review

Choose Allow for 1 hour while an agent investigates a focused change. Check the expiry in Agent access. A reconnect during that hour uses the remaining time.

An ongoing project

Choose Allow indefinitely for an agent you intend to keep using with the same project context. Review the grant later in Agent access and revoke it when the work ends.

Access after an update

Check Agent access before assuming an update removed the grant. An integration may need to reconnect while a valid project permission remains saved.

If access is not working

The agent is connected but cannot read the project.

Check the selected project and active grant in Agent access, then check account access. A connection alone does not grant project permission.

A one-hour grant has expired or access was revoked.

Make a new intentional access request and review the native project request. Reconnecting is not a renewal.

The permission view says it is temporarily unavailable.

Retry when the native view is available. Treat this as an unavailable view, not confirmation that there are no saved permissions.

Explorer requires sign-in although a project grant is saved.

The account session and project grant are separate. Sign in again when the account session has expired or been revoked.
